About ultraflex foam.

Pro-coustix Ultraflex foam is a specially designed foam for acoustic purposes, unlike foam sold by mattress manufacturers this foam has a studio gray colour great structure and open cell ration. We've used the same great design principles that we have come to be known to deliver a tile that is effective and cost effective too! These tiles pack a punch and will instantly improve the acoustics in your studio.

Pro-coustix Ultraflex wedge tiles are designed to withstand the demanding needs of today’s studios and commercial applications and are particularly suited to large scale applications like concert halls, clubbing venues and dyno test facilities.

This foam is denser that many cheaper alternatives offered in the UK coming in at 29Kg/m3. Greater density results in tighter packed air spaces per square foot and makes possible to achieve high end results with profiles similar to those of the competition. This results in a great bright and crisp sound as opposed to dead which can result from using thicker alternatives.

Higher density: 29kg/m3 compared to 25kg/m3 used by other manufacturers. This provide  greater mass per tile to absorb sound waves incident on the panels.

High Performance foam : Our foam is a purpose made acoustic grade of foam which gives it superior sound absorbing characteristics when compared to other alternatives.

Delivered Uncompressed : Proudly manufactured in Great Britain our tiles are delivered uncompressed to ensure you can use them right out of the box. There is no need to soak and dry them before use.

Produced using 100% renewable energy : Ultraflex acoustic treatment foam is produced using 100% renewable energy. By chosing us you are making a conscious decision to help reduce your carbon footprint

B Grade Panels are cut to approximately 300x300 but due to cutting errors may not have complete fins or may have machine cuts however these are purely aesthetic.

Acoustic Treatment Basics

Producing audio content in a room that is not acoustically treated can result in poor sounding audio quality. The influence of a room's interior on the audio content produced can greatly distort and colour the sound you create regardless of how expensive your speakers or monitors are. Music producers, podcasters, video bloggers, gamers and youtubers can significantly benefit from the improved acoustics that acoustic treatment brings.

Audio content produced in a space that is not adequately treated reflects poorly on one's professionalism  and results in poor quality audio that can be fatiguing to listen to. In today's world where the consumer has so much to choose from, failing to deliver on audio quality will only serve to limit the chances of your audio content making it onto the big stage.

Pro-coustix ultraflex wedge tiles will instantly improve the acoustics in your studio or workspace resulting in professionally sounding audio content. Pairing our wedge tiles with our bassblox bass traps will help dealing with lower mids and low frequency of your content

Pro-coustix ultraflex wedge tiles have earned the respect of music producers, audio content creators and audio enthusiasts across the UK due to the exceptional quality and performance they provide.

 FAQs

Question:
will this stop noise from neighbours on our adjoining wall?
Answer:
STOP!
If you are looking to stop sound you are in the wrong place. Sound can only be stopped by introducing mass and treating whole walls and ceilings to avoid flanking. This is best done by adding additional layers of suitably isolated plasterboard several times over to decouple the room from the outside. There is NO foam that will stop sound entering or leaving a room. Any sellers that claim to do this are simply misleading you.

Question:
If they don't stop sound entering or leaving a room what is their purpose?
Answer:
Acoustic treatment tiles are used to reduce echoes, reverberation and resonance in rooms. Once rooms have been sound proofed any sound that cannot escape the room is left bouncing around the walls, floors and ceiling creating spaces that are extremely bright and reveberant. Trying to create audio content in such a room will affect the quality and portability of any content produced.

In short acoustic treatment improves sound quality in a room, Sound proofing stops sound entering or leaving a room.

Question:
What is the best way to stick these on the wall?
Answer:
These can be mounted using our ATAC adhesive for permanent placement. However if you would like a non permanent option then our Isotack adhesive strips & activator kit work well.

Question:
Can these tiles be cut to size?
Answer:
Yes these tiles can be cut down to size using a sharp knife or blade e.g. stanley or craft knife.

Question:
Can these be used in public spaces
Answer:
These tiles are combustion modified however their use in commercial and public facilities should only be carried out on agreement with the relevant fire officer. Circulation spaces, corridors and exits of most public building will require panels with a high fire rating e.g. our melaflex tiles.
